Elijah Wood stars in this very gruesome serial-killer thriller, based on the VHS cult shocker from 1980. He's Frank, who lives in a dark and creepy warehouse, making a living (presumably) from leasing out store mannequins, which he painstakingly restores. His other hobby is stalking, killing and scalping attractive young women on the streets of LA, putting their hair on his mannequins, and pretending they're his mum. Attractive photographer Anna (Nora Arnezeder) unknowingly befriends Frank, fascinated by his work. Can she redeem him? Don't bet your life savings on it. The movie is shot from Frank's point of view, and it does have some ingenious and effective moments of horror. I found it intestine-squishingly horrible, but also dreary.
