A Haunted House 2 review – crude humour, racial stereotypes

The followup to last year's parody lampoons paranormal thrillers but can't deliver more than a few observational gags, writes Anna Smith

Anyone who had the misfortune to see last year's A Haunted House will know what to expect from this sequel – another horror-movie parody gleefully revelling in crude humour and racial stereotypes. This one lampoons recent paranormal thrillers, such as Sinister and The Conjuring, with a nonsensical nod to Breaking Bad. Having ditched his possessed girlfriend, Malcolm (Marlon Wayans) has moved on to divorced mom Megan (Jaime Pressly), who owns a creepy doll that Malcolm finds strangely attractive. A few observational gags deliver, but all the doll-humping and chicken-slaughtering will haunt you for days.
