Poetic evocation of blindness … Buttermouth, from The Magic Hour Photograph: PR

The Magic Hour is a collaborative project, supported by the UK Film Council's New Cinema Fund: a compilation of five short films by new directors who are disabled. There are interesting images and themes here, but I have to say that many ideas did not really come off and some films needed work. For me, the piece which was the most interesting and fully realised was Buttermouth, directed by Andrew Gibbs, a poetic and melancholy evocation of blindness.
