This week's only Hollywood high-school movie is a revenge comedy starring Kristen Bell as Marni, once an awkward, bespectacled teenage ugly duckling, now a beautiful and successful PR executive, who returns home for her beloved brother's wedding to discover that his bride-to-be is the cheerleader who bullied her in high school. As Marni adjusts to the shock, her mother (Jamie Lee Curtis) finds out that her future daughter-in-law's guardian, now a top international hotelier (Sigourney Weaver), was her arch rival at the same high school 30 years before. There is an amusing idea buried here, but the script is laboured and the direction heavy-handed.
