The feature debut of an Iranian-American director, this determinedly sexy drama is set over two nights. On the first, a smart New York couple (Keira Knightley, Sam Worthington), living in a chic, converted loft, have a row that sows suspicions of infidelity. On the second, he and a voluptuous colleague (Eva Mendes) are pursuing his work as commercial property dealers in Philadelphia, and she's going about her business when she accidentally meets an old flame (Guillaume Canet) from her time in Paris. The question is: will they or won't they? And if so, will they confess? The film is as shiny and thin as a coat of nail varnish, but beguilingly photographed by Peter Deming, who shot the Scream quartet and David Lynch's Mulholland Drive.
