Wallace & Gromit are to make their second outing in a TV ad for npower, which will feature the duo trying another hare-brained scheme to make their household more eco-friendly.

Npower is using Wallace & Gromit, created by Nick Park and Aardman Animation, in a series of TV and press ads to push the gas and electricity company's energy efficient products and services.

MediaGuardian.co.uk offers an exclusive first look at the TV ad, which breaks this Thursday. It features Wallace attempting to insulate the loft of his house. But the bungling inventor's idea of insulation is to squeeze a flock of sheep into his ceiling cavity, a plan that results in the roof caving in. Npower uses the incident to highlight that it offers a cost-effective insulation service.

The 30-second TV ad, which breaks during the Home Show on Channel 4, has been created by the ad agency Beattie McGuinness Bungay.

"We're hoping their [Wallace & Gromit's] positive appraoch to energy efficiency will help people see how simple it is to make small changes and a big difference to their energy bills," said the npower marketing director, Kevin Peake.

Npower's first TV ad campaign featuring Wallace & Gromit appeared in March.
